Well, it was meant to be a home school graduation day, but we are No Where near done .
The kids and I have been participating in a weekly home-school group in order to have English socialization and to share ideas for education. I have mostly felt like I am spinning my wheels trying to just catch up and stay a float. The founder and leader of this group has 10 kids. All who are over achievers I will say. Her family are in inspiration. This semester had a mid evil theme. The students participated in med evil crafts, games, and many educational projects.
The final project was to preform a seen from The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe. Charis was chosen to play Lucy and Ilana was a centaur. Tova was meant to be a kitty cat but she puked all over her costume just as we were leaving the house. Sheryl was gracious to let us participate with out a costume for her.I cant tell you how proud I was of Charis, and how surprised I was at all the girls ability to memorize lines and to act out their parts. Even poor sick Tova who begged to be in the play after barfing 2x was great at her parts.

During the awards presentations the power went out for 20 or 25 minutes. In that time the guards forgot we were in the building and locked us in. As they tried to call someone to let us out of the building the power was out and we all skipped ahead in the program to eating refreshments in the dark. You know you are in a community of TCK'(third culture kids) when the power goes out at 7:30pm everything is dark and you all have to huddle around the light of your parents cell phones. And NO ONE skipped a beat!! We are all so used to it that it was like nothing happend at all. We simply waited for some one to un lock the building,, waited for the power to come back so we could gather our belongings and ate brownies in the dark. Honestly it was rather comical . I had to borrow a cell phone to take Ilana to the bathroom because It was so dark I could not find my bag.
It was such a blessing to just have the opportunity to preform on stage and get awards and be the center of attention for just a moment.
BTW Charis was honored for perseverance, Ilana for kindness and Tova for showing Love to others. THey have come such a long way. I am so blessed to be able to see it all happen as we home school each day.

Was it when Aslan breathes on the others at the witch's castle and ends the spell? Poor Tova :( Sounds like fun otherwise. -Leah
So glad that you can be part of a homeschool co-op even in Cambodia! I would so love to be there too! There seems to be a shortage of homeschoolers in my part of Australia!
